The Question

At TikTok’s scale, product problems stop being about individual features.

They become questions of lifecycle control, permission boundaries, compliance, and cross-region consistency.

How do you design platform infrastructure that supports hundreds of internal teams, operates across 30+ regions, and remains compliant under evolving regulations?

The System

I worked on multiple foundational platform systems that sat beneath TikTok’s global operations:

• MinT User Lifecycle Platform

  A backend system supporting full user lifecycle management, enabling Ops and product teams to act with consistency and precision.

• CRM & User Labeling Framework

  Designed a patent-pending labeling system adopted across Ops, Trust & Safety, Monetization, and Client teams — reducing segmentation effort by 40% and accelerating campaign launches by 25%.

• Global RBAC & Permission Infrastructure

  Built a role-based access control system covering 100+ roles across 30+ regions, ensuring scalable governance with zero major audit findings.

• Compliance & Regulatory Initiatives

  Led and delivered multiple compliance-critical projects (e.g. sensitive data restructuring, regulatory deadlines) ahead of schedule.

My Role

• Independently drove system design from problem definition to global rollout

• Balanced product usability with regulatory and security constraints

• Coordinated across Product, Legal, Security, and regional stakeholders

• Ensured infrastructure decisions could scale without fragmentation
